Does anyone know about Spider Bites?

I got a bite on my foot and i’m not sure how to identify it…. Does anyone know how to Identify Spider Bites? It’s really red around the bite, it burns and there’s constant puss. If it is a Spider Bite what should i do to treat it?
I woke up with the bite and i didn’t see the spider… and i’m not going to die from it there’s no black widows where i live in Illinois.

Your problem needs to be seen to in a hospital, not in yahoo answers.
Because of lack of expertise and because i’m not in Illinois, i can’t make assumptions on which kind of spider caused the bite, or if it was even a spider which caused it.
Your best bet would be to get yourself to a hospital and get yourself checked out.
They have a venom and poisons research centre there and would be able to help you much more than i will ever be able to.
Also, some points to note, how large is the swelling? does it itch? Can you actually see the puncture marks from the fangs that delivered the venom? Remember, there is no guarantee that it is a spider bite.
Get to a hospital if it becomes worse, in the meantime wash the bite with something alkaline to neutralise the poison and apply an ice pack to it.
Good luck. :)
